Thunderheart
In the movie we can see that the main character finds his roots, as he shares with the people of the reservation, after he denied them and he takes respect to people that live there.
I think that we should respect ours natives and we not should take their ground. After all they've been before us.
Today, Do you think that today in another countries is respected the native's life?

First of all, I think that the issue is not about not respecting their lifes, it's about not respecting their traditions, their beliefs and their rights. There are countries that still respect in some way their natives, with their traditions and beliefs, like New Zealand, they are very attached to their roots, but if we take for example Chile, the States or Australia, we'll see that even though the natives still exist, their own nation has taken away little by little everything they had, and we're all responsible for that, because we are witness of these abuses and we do nothing to try to stop it.
ReplyDeleteI think there are countries where this happens but for example in our country seems to be that it is not. In Chile, the Mapuche life is worth very little, there is not a day or some important event that allows us to appropriate and learn more about our roots. The government does not care about them as they should do and unfortunately the abuses to them remain hidden. I feel that is very important to respect the natives of our country because they are part of our identit, they are Chile.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Alejandra about that we have to respect our natives. For example I think that in Chile we don´t respect the native´s lifes. p the Mapuches and we don´t know many things about them , and a lot of people says bad things about them and that it is not fair, because they fought for differents bad things that another group made them.
