This is a very controversial question, in fact, it has been widely discussed, but there isn't just one correct answer,so, why do you think Elizabeth I took it so long to get marry?
I think that she was a queen, so she couldn't get married with any person. I think that all the men she met didn't show their real personality to her and they only were nice with her because she was a powerful person. Maybe she wanted a person who could be "real" with her and could be in love with her not just because she was a queen.
I agree with Evelyn and that's why I think the queen liked Walter Raleigh because he was real, he didn't hide anything of him, that is what the queen needed to finally get married.
