Five Key Questions (by Sebas Manrox)

Hi, guys! I'm glad to participate in this blog. I think it's time to share new music and new ideas about the course and the contents...

Now, my video...

The video I choosed is a song by Johnny Clegg called "Cruel, Crazy, Beautiful World", performed in one of the 46664 Concerts realized in some cities of the world. This one was based in Tromsø, Norway, on 11th June 2005. Check the link to know more about those concerts.

Do you wanna check the lyrics? Here they are!

Five Key Questions about the song:

1.- Who created this message?
The message was created by Johnny Clegg, a South African singer and composer.

2.-What creative techniques are used to attract my attention?
The lyrics about future life, good and bad things about it and the Zulu words used in.

3.-How might different people understand this message differently?
This song is one of the most popular and representative song in All-Time South African rock history. The mixture between Zulu and English languages, and the mix of black and white-skinned people in the original band (Savuka) made in the context of Apartheid was historically and socially attractive to South African people. But in countries like Chile, Germany or Colombia, where politics like Apartheid was neves applied and Zulu is a strange language, the message may not be understood and comprehended totally,

4.-What values, lifestyles and points of view are represented in, or omitted from, this message?
In my opinion, the most important value in the message is the care of the children. This song, specially, was wrotten by Johnny when his son, Jesse, was born. In the lyrics, he gives a welcome to his son and also some advices of the cruel, crazy and beautiful world when he was born.

5.-Why is this message being sent?
Because, I think, Johnny feels the need of advice and protect his son of the world situations and the human behavior.

Well, I hope you liked the song and my reflection. See you soon!
Manrox.

PD: Ayeye Jesse Mfana is a sentence spoken in Zulu. It can means Celebrate, little Jeese. Jeese is the name of Johnny's son, who is now also a musician.
